Product Description

Heirloom - the culinary update for your server
Bring cozy, physical cooking to Minecraft - without needing mods or a resource pack.
Heirloom turns farming and food into a rewarding survival loop. Players grow crops, prepare ingredients at real in-world stations, and cook meals that matter. Everything works on a vanilla client: no downloads, texture-pack prompts, or missing-texture issues.
Cook in the world, not in a menu

Build a real kitchen and interact with it naturally.
Boiling Pot — cook soups and stews with bubbling water and steam
Cutting Board — chop and process ingredients with satisfying interactions
Frying Pan — fry food with sizzling sounds and smoke particles
Oven & Mixer — prepare dough and bake more advanced recipes
Grow custom crops

Add more purpose to your farms with custom crops including:
- Tomatoes
- Rice
- Corn
Crops have visible growth stages and configurable conditions. For example, rice can require water to thrive. Players can plant, tend, harvest, process, and cook their produce into meaningful meals.
Dietary and lifestyle gameplay

Heirloom includes dietary systems that make food choices matter:
Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free tracking
Favourite-food bonuses
Smart dietary calculations for custom recipes based on their ingredients
Ideal for survival, SMP, RPG, and roleplay servers
Create your own recipes

Use the included web recipe generator to make recipes without manually writing JSON. Select ingredients, choose a station and cooking time, then export your recipe configuration.
Designed to fit your server
No resource pack required
Vanilla-client friendly
Supports custom-item & custom-texture workflows with Nexo, CraftEngine and ItemsAdder
Works alongside protection and permission plugins such as Towny and WorldGuard
Configurable crops, recipes, items, and gameplay behaviour.
Compatible with Geyser setups, with the usual Bedrock display limitations
If you're missing a plugin interoperability (like EcoEnchants), buy it and ask in the discord, I usually add it within a week:)
Getting started

1. Place Heirloom.jar in your server's plugins folder.

LatestHeirloom 2.9 — Content Packs, Farming & Cookbook Update
Heirloom 2.9 is the first public update since 2.5. It brings new food releases, a much better cookbook, repaired hanging crops and achievements, safer live configuration, more visual-provider options, and a substantial collection of gameplay and compatibility fixes.
Releases accompanying Heirloom 2.9
• Heirloom Asian Food Pack 1.0.0 is the first standalone food pack for Heirloom 2.9+. It adds 47 food visuals, distinct sushi and noodle recipes, four placeable feasts, player-head fallbacks, and an optional Nexo visual package.
• Heirloom Cafe 2.9 receives a matching companion update for its coffee, tea, and Barista Machine content.
• The Cafe addon and Asian Food Pack are available through MCModels. Their BuiltByBit releases have been submitted and are awaiting marketplace review.
Installed Content and cookbook improvements
• Open Installed Content from the recipe-browser hub or with /hl packs.
• Browse Heirloom Core, installed JSON content packs, and registered addons in one place.
• Every source appears as a filled bundle with representative items, version and type details, and active item and recipe counts.
• Left-click a source to open its filtered item list directly; right-click it to browse that source's recipes.
• Administrators can open the same source-filtered item browser directly with /hl items <source>.
• Recipe cards, recipe details, and Ingredient Index entries now show their owning source in the GUI without adding ownership lore to real items.
• Dynamic SET_VISUAL_ITEM outputs are indexed as real cookbook variants. Input-driven variants open with the matching ingredient selected, while property-driven variants show the correct result preview.
• Generated preview names and lore explicitly disable Minecraft's default italics.
• The Barista Machine button is hidden when the Cafe addon is not installed, including after content reloads.
Content packs and recipe overrides
• JSON content packs can declare a stable pack ID, display name, version, and optional override_strength.
• Recipes compete only when their IDs match. The strongest active definition wins, while removing or reloading that pack restores the next available definition.
• Commands, crafting, mastery lookups, and cookbook indexes all use the active recipe winner.
• Heirloom 2.9 is required for packs using override strength, including the Asian Food Pack's intentional overrides.
Farming and achievement fixes
• Hanging crops now place beneath their support instead of growing on top of it.
• Hanging plants correctly show growing and ripe visuals, harvest normally, work with the Farmer's Hoe, and break when their support is removed.
• Custom hanging crops can restrict valid supports with valid_ceiling_blocks; otherwise solid full blocks are accepted.
• New players no longer receive free Heirloom achievements simply for joining.
• First Bite and First Harvest now unlock only after their real actions, one achievement at a time.
• The invisible advancement root is granted only during a genuine achievement unlock, preserving Minecraft's normal toast and reward behaviour.
Upgrade note: hanging crops placed by an affected older version cannot be repaired automatically and must be replanted once after updating.
Custom drops and safer live reloads
• seed_acquisition.json now supports additive weighted block_drops rules for vanilla blocks.
• Rules can use optional biome filters, independent drop chances, weighted vanilla or Heirloom outputs, and configurable amounts.
• These rewards do not replace normal Minecraft drops, and they do not run for creative-mode or cancelled block breaks.
• No sculk—or other new block-drop rule—is enabled by default; the shipped list remains empty until a server owner configures it.
• /hl reload now reloads core content, addons, seed acquisition, block drops, dietary properties, WorldGuard settings, and cookbook indexes as one transaction.
• Addon-registered items and recipes now survive successful reloads instead of disappearing from active registries.
• If a core, addon, or configuration reload fails, Heirloom restores the previous working registries instead of leaving the server partially reloaded.
WorldGuard and protection controls
• WorldGuard integration is enabled by default and can be disabled under integrations.worldguard.enabled.
• Regions can use /rg flag <region> heirloom-stations allow to permit Heirloom cooking stations without allowing unrelated containers.
• Explicit allow and deny values control station use. When unset, Heirloom follows WorldGuard's normal interaction result.
Visual providers and item fallback
• CraftEngine 26.6 joins Nexo and ItemsAdder as an optional visual provider.
• Visuals resolve in this order: Nexo, ItemsAdder, CraftEngine, then the item's built-in player-head fallback.
• Gameplay definitions remain owned by Heirloom. Missing providers or individual provider entries fall back without disabling the food or recipe.
• Provider-backed placeable dishes and feasts use their canonical player-head form when placed, preserving in-world placement and serving behaviour.
• The Asian Food Pack includes a Nexo package and player-head fallback. Its 1.0.0 download does not bundle ItemsAdder or CraftEngine provider folders.
• The refreshed Cafe visual pack includes CraftEngine assets alongside its Nexo and ItemsAdder variants.
Cooking and recipe polish
• The Asian Food Pack gives related foods distinct gameplay rules: nigiri uses a topping and compatible rice without kelp, while maki uses a filling, compatible rice, and exactly one dried kelp.
• Food effects can share one chance roll when they use the same chance group and probability, allowing linked effects to apply—or miss—together. Ungrouped effects retain independent rolls.
• Ovens now show a fire while baking and restore their visual state safely afterward.
• Cooking-progress shimmer now moves continuously as cells fill instead of visibly jumping.
• Americano now uses a water bottle and returns a glass bottle instead of using a water bucket.
• Crop harvesting no longer causes false Vulcan FastBreak A flags during Heirloom's crop-break handling. Genuine FastBreak detections remain unaffected.
Compatibility, distribution, and experimental Bedrock support
• One universal Java 21 JAR is verified against Paper 1.21.11, Paper 26.1.2, and Paper 26.2.
• BuiltByBit license injection continues to work, and the universal JAR now includes the metadata needed for deterministic MCModels/Lukittu license resolution.
• Heirloom includes opt-in server-side tooling and generated resources for a pinned Geyser, Floodgate, and GeyserDisplayEntity stack. The third-party server binaries must be obtained separately and are not bundled by Heirloom.
• Automated checks cover the checked-in mappings, custom skulls, resource-pack staging, startup behaviour, and pinned Heirloom release artifact.
• The current generated Bedrock resources predate the Asian Food Pack and do not cover or verify its visuals. A full real-device Bedrock gameplay pass has also not been completed. Bedrock compatibility remains EXPERIMENTAL / UNVERIFIED and should not be advertised as production support yet.
• Servers using Vulcan must set enable-api: true in Vulcan's configuration for Heirloom's FastBreak compatibility filter.
Before updating from 2.5
1. Back up the server and the complete plugins/Heirloom/ directory.
2. Stop the server and replace the old core JAR with Heirloom-2.9.jar. If using Cafe, replace its addon JAR with the new 2.9 Cafe release at the same time.
3. Keep your existing configuration files, but compare them with the new defaults if you want block drops, WorldGuard controls, or other new options.
4. Start the server and use /hl reload after later content or configuration changes.
5. Replant hanging crops created by an affected older build.
6. If using Vulcan, enable its API. If using WorldGuard, configure heirloom-stations only where needed.
7. Follow the included README when installing the Asian Food Pack or optional provider files.
Compatibility summary
• Plugin bytecode: Java 21
• Verified Paper APIs: 1.21.11, 26.1.2, and 26.2
• Optional visual providers: Nexo, ItemsAdder, CraftEngine 26.6
• Optional protection integration: WorldGuard
• Optional anticheat integration: Vulcan with enable-api: true
• Optional experimental Bedrock stack: Geyser, Floodgate, and GeyserDisplayEntity
These notes describe implemented, packaged, and automated behaviour. Client-side provider rendering and real-device Bedrock gameplay have not been manually accepted and remain explicit release limitations.
